1. Tesla Model S

Since we are making a list of electric cars, number one of the top five most successful electric cars should be Tesla. Tesla Model S was achieved the highest selling rate in 2016 in U.S. market. Due to easy and effective way of charging, Model S is a revolutionary automobile in this sector. Furthermore, the advanced technical details make these cars as safe as a Volvo car. Although the range could change depending on which Model S you have purchased, this car could go between 219 miles and 331 miles with single charge.

2. Nissan Leaf

Nissan Leaf is one of the affordable electric cars on the market. South Korean giant Nissan has launched the Leaf model in 2010. Leaf model could go between 84 and 107 miles with single charge. The design of the model was changed in 2017 and new technical improvements were introduced. The second-generation Leaf is now in the market and this model could go up to 150 miles with single charge. Nissan is working hard on this model and trying to provide the highest technology.

3. Renault Zoe

Renault Zoe electric car has been manufactured since 2012. The range of this model has started with 130 miles with single charge between 2012 and 2015. The new model of Zoe offers 250 miles with single charge. French car manufacturer Renault is investing in this model to become a part of the electrical car race.

4. Toyota Prius

Toyota Prius is one of the leading hybrid cars on the market. The first generation of this hybrid car was released in 1997. Today, we can see the fourth generation of Prius family. This car is not completely electric car. However, the performance of Prius has mostly depended on the lithium-ion batteries on the engine.

5. Mitsubishi Outlander

Like Prius, Mitsubishi Outlander is a hybrid car. However, this model offers electric driving option in a SUV. Electric range of this hybrid is 33 miles but combined with traditional engine, the car could go up to 542 miles.
